Here is one for all of you mixologists out there. Or shall I say... Mixoloquists? I know. I'm a dork. lol But nonetheless, here is a tasty, berry-ful drink. I recommend using blueberry vodka for this one. And be sure to garnish with blueberries as well! That just so happens to be my favorite fruit, btw ;) Enjoy!
I am delighted to announce that Josephine and I will be appearing in an exciting new play, presented as a staged reading. This marks my debut performance at the fabulous Theatre Lawrence. I am truly thrilled to be part of a production that explores one of my favorite subjects: V A U D E V I L L E Please enjoy this little homemade trailer I created. Anyone who knows me is well aware of my obsession with Tim Curry—and of the profound influence he had on the creation of Josephine. In this video, I present highlights from my video chats with Tim, interwoven with a home recording of Josephine performing “Fanfare” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
A fascinating detail: the voice of Dr. Frank-N-Furter was inspired by a group of rather "posh" women Tim once encountered on a bus. He described their accents as caricatured. Josephine is my interpretation of how I imagine those women might have sounded. Their voices may well have been higher-pitched, but Josephine is an older woman who has unapologetically denied the aging process—with the help if plastic surgery. She is the million dollar woman! I chose to sing in a lower register for two reasons: 1. I am an alto, and my upper range is limited. 2. I wanted to channel the rich, resonant depth associated with Bea Arthur to better reflect Josephine’s intended age and presence. The video concludes with a special cameo from my cat, Tiptoe. I adore my character Josephine, I deeply admire Tim Curry, and I cherish my cats. I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed creating it. This is an old video of Josephine. I'm sure you've already figured that out, just by looking at the retired wig (and profound lack of 'bust'). But nonetheless, this is one of my favorite videos simply because it demonstrates one of the greatest joys in life: collaborating with your best friends. Joseph Schreiner (the musician in this video) is my BFF for life. We became close pals when we met in 2009 as performers for The Felt Show (an adult comedy puppet troupe) in Lawrence, KS. That was 17 years ago and we are still besties to this very day. When you have friends who also carry an artistic medium of some sort, ALWAYS find ways to collaborate. Even if you both do entirely different things, find that common ground. You'll look back on those days smiling like you've never smiled before. This video is one that I treasure forever... Even though Josephine's voice kind of fades into the background. But luckily, I have provided captions for you. Enjoy =)
This is the very first post I've made with my character, Apple Jack. It's late Autumn, so now seems like the best time to post anything apple-related. In this video, we're going back to the debate about pumpkin spice vs. apple spice. He's lucky I am more of a pumpkin spice person. Enjoy! This is my first video in a while. Decided to throw in a little vent challenge. Salty S. Cargo takes on one of the longest words in the English language. But which one is it? Tune in, and you'll see ;) This compliment came from one of the most inspiring performers I have ever known. On October 25, 2025, this beautiful soul was taken from this world, and senselessly so. Louise ImMasche was a fellow performer and friend. While we did not know each other deeply, we held a genuine admiration for one another’s work. Louise inspired me more than nearly any artist I have encountered. They possessed a radiance that was both contagious and invigorating. It is rare to meet an artist who is not only extraordinarily talented but also entirely free of ego.The first time I saw Louise perform was in October 2024, when they took on the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in a production of The Rocky Horror Show. Anyone who knows me understands how much RHPC means to me. Louise’s portrayal was so powerful that I immediately took the unusual step of sending them a friend request on Facebook. I do not often do that, but their performance left that strong of an impression. Building connections with fellow performers for the sake of collaboration has always been important to me, and I am grateful we had the opportunity to share the stage in a Christmas variety show—an evening I will cherish for the rest of my life. Their final-ever performance was a reprise of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 2025 production of The Rocky Horror Show.
In many ways, it felt as though I had known Louise for years. Even our briefest interactions carried a sense of magic. On stage, they were dynamic and regal. There will never be another quite like them. That single compliment from Louise, sent over Facebook, means more to me than any award or television appearance I have ever received. I no longer care about “winning” in the traditional sense; I care about winning hearts, and Louise undoubtedly won mine. Rest well, beautiful angel. It was an absolute honor to witness you perform one final time. Wanna see some weird wild stuff? There's 4 ways you can really freak somebody out by using ventriloquism!
